ktvu's david stevenson is in san francisco tonight and tells us how they handled it there. david? >> reporter: frank, parents and the school district worked to explain the massacre to young students here while also working to prevent a similar event from happening here. >> reporter: as newton, connecticut laid to rest some of the children, san francisco worked to reassure children and others. >> it is a sheltering. >> reporter: she says her group sent parents information on how to talk to kids about the tragedy. >> we had the range of feed back from parents. you know, very worried, very emotional. to pragmatic. >> reporter: this principal canceled a press conference to address staffers and students about safety. at other schools counselors were made available. districts asked principal to review their emergency plans. every school has a emergency plan for different scenarios. >> reporter: the superintendent says more fences and locks won't stop someone intent on entering a school. >> it is not about stuff, it is about people, people knowing what to do, well informed student body t
